One of my all time favorite songs of 20111 has been " A drop in the ocean", by Ron Pope. Incase you have not heard the song and would like to, here is a link:

The title of the song was the perfect title for Essie's "Aruba blue" nail polish. I have an overwhelming love for painting my nails. It is so relaxing. Needless to say, this color is an absolute fall/winter must have.

I can feel the tingle of the ocean tides just staring at my nails. Hope you enjoy the imagery, and let me know what you think of this color!

A decade ahead

Dear readers,

It feels as if ages have passed since I placed my fingers on this very keyboard. My blog- the only outlet of my own self expression that I ever really felt connected to. Life has its switches. Sometimes it throws you a good hand, and the next moment it leaves you utterly destroyed. My life has been at a consistent low for the last several months. It seems like my endeavors always fail me. The more I spend in interaction, the more I understand how relationships are really built on money.
I didn't ask to be 25, going onto 26. I physically age, yet my mind still relishes in the simply joys of youth. Paying bills and maintaining some kind of roof over my head has been so unstable- that all these demons have managed to shun me from the light.
Sorry if I seem depressing. Sometimes sharing your own truth is the most valuable piece of information you could give to someone. I think with this is mind- I will begin resuming back to the old me. Depression is just not for me.

The Flash Palette- by Makeup Forever..it's delicious :)

This palette is by far the most sensational divine creation in makeup history. I knew I had to own it once I saw the well acclaimed youtube star "Michelle Phan" use it in one of her tutorials while traveling overseas. Even though this weightless item cost slightly over $100usd with tax, it was well worth the money. The colors are so vibrant and intense. The cream glides on like butter. The palette offers a friendly range of both of eye, cheek, and lip color. I would say the cream like consistency makes a wonderful base, if you decide to add an eyeshadow over it; however, it can also be used over a primer and worn on its very own. Just look at that silver and gold!, don't you just want to swim in it?!

Yet again, I have been absent- venturing into the deep caves of my blanket. I miss blogging, and most importantly I miss you. In all fairness, I have not gone shopping in over a month ( which is tough on a girl).
I figured I would focus on the things I already have. I have come to considerably appreciate the makeup I have acquired, more so than the inner rush of buying more. So, I have a number of palettes ( some pre-set, and some of which I picked out my own colors). I may just take you on a palette journey.

In the meantime, let's dive into these two!

Most of the colors are similar- and that is because they were all generally purchased at Sephora- where the color range is very limited. In addition, I have a major tendency to stick to similar colors- so much that I have managed to buy 6 identical shades (that lay in my drawer for a rainy day).

Each MUFE eyeshadow retails at $19usd in Sephora, but I recommend purchasing directly from the source:http://www.makeupforever.com/ , where you can get them in pan form for $13.00. If you happen to own M.A.C eyeshadow, they retail for $11.00 in pan form..but are half the size of a MUFE eyeshadow. In all if you are a eyeshadow buff, these are astonishing! feel like silk and remarkable color pay off!

An other day, an other drugstore haul!

Seriously, I despise the term "drugstore makeup"..it makes me feel as though I have just purchased bandages and powedered kool-aid- and applied it all over my face.

Drugstore makeup rocks!-however, I have noticed that the prices are slowly but surely meeting the likes of brands such as MAC. Anyway, if I am paying $10 for a Revlon lipstick- please do not refer to it as a drug store lippie. Mac lispticks retail at $14.50, and are not nearly as moisturizing to the lips. that is not to say that I have abstained from MAC ( just an observation).

Enough of my blabbing and on to the haul!

How typical of me : I went for the "Physician's formula"-blue eyes sets..since i have blue eyes, and figured I would really put these to the test..to determine if my eyes get any more "blue"

We all see the constant infomercials, you tube videos, and new marketing schemes on "Anti- aging". Never has anti-aging been such a valuable and prized beauty factor in society as it is today. As an advocate of wrinkle, and spot prevention- I am taking preventive measures against the clock. These are my most prized skin care items, and regime. I make my best effort to do this on a daily basis.

( most of the skin care items I use are geared toward clean skin, and not only for anti aging)

Nightly routine:

Step 1: remove all makeup, dirt, and excess oil from the skin. I prefer using a cleansing pad ( with anti-acne properties) to remove everything ( Although I do not suffer from acne, I still get pimples on occasion)

Step 2: I use a soothing cleansing cloth after the acne treatment to smooth and relax my skin from over dryness and irritation. I prefer Neutrogena or Mac wipes ( both are costly- but cloths are not necessary, you could just use a facial cleanser and wash with warm water)- i'm just lazy.

Step 3: Lancome "Genifique" anti-aging serum. This particular product has been really advocated. I was really intrigued after reading so many positive reviews on this serum..that after months of restraining myself, I finally opted to buy it! I bought the smallest size, which is 1 fl oz, and retailed close to $60usd with tax. So far my skin looks more radiant- it's hard to determine how well it works considering I do not have wrinkles yet; but I will say that my skin looks fresh and glowing :)

FYI: This product is best used when applied once at night and once in the morning.

Step 4: "The shower"- my favorite duo!

I love this "Clean&Clear" exfoliating cleanser. I apply the cleanser directly to the center of the brush.

FYI: this brush is no worse than the ever so hyped "Clarisonic" , and is only $5 usd from Sephora!

just rotate the brush in a circular motion all over your face, rinse, and than repeat the process once more! your skin will love you!

The weight loss Journey, and the road ahead

I am officially on day-"two" of my "weight loss"..incase, you are wondering why? it's because i'm rather fluffy, and being portrayed as a big wide Easter bunny at the age of 25 is no sun shine on my parade. Yes day two- out of a 30 day challenge!

what I will likely not be doing: any cardio (other than working)..because I utterly despise moving my body,. I would rather negate the calories in my food.

what I will be doing: Eating in moderation, eating things that have a low fat/ calorie combo. Also will be cutting out all major soda' (yum), along with candy ( double yum).

I will be posting periodically my "attempting" progress..maybe even an entire body view, if I can muster up the courage.

hello homies,

I finally got my sweaty hands on the amazing "Shatter"by O.P.I. I have been literally trying for countless months to find this cool shatter, crackle, whatever you call it little gypsy"baby".

So, I walked into some random drugstore- and guess what?..they had one left- Just one little lonesome "black shatter"..!

It felt like one of those life changing moments..some people climb mountains and feel achievement. I have been enlightened by a polish.

Of course my little doggie paws were all over it..and so, the very moment I came home I dipped my fingers into nail polish remover- and was ready to become a defiant shattered warrior.

Enough blabbing- here are the triumphant results:

So I tip in even's, buy products in evens ( not the same product- but let's say I am only interested in purchasing one thing- I will buy anything else, even if it may be under one dollar- as long as I purchased two items= even numbers). You may also notice that the number of pictures I put up are always an even number as well- this weird frantic psychosis started about two months ago- who knows?!..i am flying off the bandwagon.

The weather in New York City is always unpredictable during the time of Spring. With my anticipation for the leaves to start blooming, I begin my celebration of Spring by emptying out my pockets. Materialistic items cannot substitute my passion for nature, but they certainly captivate my eyes...and leave me with new ideas.

Title: don't ask..i think the song originated from the likes of Will Smith, and I have a passion for inserting cheesy attention grabbers.

Anyway, hello Spring!- I feel your pain my fellow Nothern Americans, and wherever else it may be cold. I hear it will snow tomorrow?!

Too make light of the unruly weather, I go out and spend an absurd amount of money on- well, MAC and Sephora primarily.

Diamonds are great friends, but countless lipsticks and eye shadows are the love of my life. - ok, kidding!

So...these are just some M.A.C cosmetics lipsticks I purchased ( which are all part of their line- minus the Viva glam Gaga 2 and Gaga gloss (limited edition)

I had a longing to pick up some shades that are not in my color range- something bold, and different. I also caved in and went for my safety colors ( nude, pink)

Verdict on MAC VIVA GLAM GAGA 2: NOT WORTH IT!, OVER-hyped!
I have a very fair skin tone, and this lipstick/gloss duo in not complimentary on my lips. It feels very washed out. Although the lipstick is an "amplified" ( which is wonderful for its creamy and moisturizing texture), it does not serve the color justice. People with darker skin tones than I will appear as if they are wearing concealer and gloss over their lips. Not complimentary to dark skin tones. I am personally not fond of the second release of her lipstick. I prefer the first light pink from the MAC Gaga series.

First and foremost I would like to contribute this post to the recently departed Elizabeth Taylor. She was one of the most ravishing and impressionable women of the 20th century- and her passing is truly devastating.

I figured since i have not blogged in ages, I would do a "face of the day", since a sweet girl did request to see it- and well, thank you for liking my face :)

Also one of my fine attributes is my laziness- so I took the photos with my video cam, as opposed to my digital camera that would pick up the actual fine gradient of the eye shadows i used, as opposed to the general blurred out images my video camera produced. I am a work in progress.

here goes nothing ( as they say) :

These are all of the products i used in a nutshell ( minus the reddish dog fur)

I applied the color "Alice" on my lower lash line over a Urban Decay eye pencil in "Flipside", I used "Underland in the crease along with a color "Queen" (not shown here) for the general eyelid area

Urban decay eye primer potion was applied to the upper and lower lids before applying eyeshadow- should be placed before the "shadow" pics

I used the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD FOUNDATION IN 117- blending with a large concealer brush by Sigma

This is MAKE UP FOREVER's "sculpting kit" (which is a bit dark for my skin"- so I used to light shade on a Duo-fiber Sigma brush to set the foundation, and the dark color for highlighting the cheekbone, and contouring the sides of my nose

I wore " Voluptuous nude 26" lipstick by Givenchy

I finished off my lips with a nice sample size brown tinted lip gloss by Lorac

In addition I primed my face with Lancome " La base pro", and added blush by combining two shades in the "Alice in Wonderland" palette

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips Review

FINALY FINALLY, I AM BACK! After a brutal two weeks of utter sickness..I am blessed to say I feel better now.

I will never neglect my blog- unless the circumstances are really detrimental

Anyway, I have been longing to do this "review" for over a month!

After experimenting with the nil polish strips for over a solid month- I have a gist of how they work, their longevity, and all the other mystery behind them.

Breaking it down by category:

PRICE: An estimate between $10-$11 usd per open box - comes with to small packages than contain roughly 8 nail polish strips ( in case you mess up on any of your five fingers- you have a few back ups). Each package is supposed to technically be used for a one time application- and than the box to be discarded...however, with all the extra sticker remaining once I file it off each individual nail- I save them for a second time use. After all, this is a costly luxury - especially for a one time use!

Application: It is no more difficult than applying stickers on your finger nails...just measure the width of each nail polidh strip to your finger- making sure it will cover the width of your nail...and stick them on carefully. A small nail file is included- you will need to file off the remaining fraction of the strip - since the strips are double in length than most nails.

* also once you have applied all of your nail strips- I highly recommend using any clear top coat- this will help the strips stay on longer, and delay peeling.*

Pros:

1. Variation of funky different nail designs
2. Easy to apply
3. Cheaper than getting a full on nail design manicure done at a salon
4. It's fun!

Cons:

1. Some nail polish strips look too much like childish stickers- you do not feel the full benefit of a manicure.

2. Harsh on the price

3. The company promises that they last up to 10 days- however I have noticed small chipping within three- four days ( with regular showering)

4. I do not recommend to apply these if you are someone who takes long and frequent baths- they soak the nail polish strips, and the strips will automatically begin to soften and come off very easily.

OVERALL - I say try it...in particular if you want to get the most use out of them- go for the solid print glitter ones ( as shown in a picture above)- they look just like a manicure....and chip much slower!

So, I made a little photo montage of my life he on my blog a few posts ago, and I promised I would make an extra pot with new photos of myself after I hit the frightening age of 25 ( which I have yet to get over). I have made sure to wear as much makeup as possible, and pose heavily- trying to attain the years of my youth, which have carelessly gone by.

So, I made an entire video proclaiming my love for all things - MAC LIMITED EDITION item..until I decided I looked utterly ross- with my carefree frizzy hair, and that not so perfect commercial model appearance that all fellow youtube users seek in a "guru"/ beauty advisor- so, I decided to snap away at the products I picked up when the collection came out... and not deal with all of the rude and painful outburts from youtube strangers!

as for the collection...The packaging has been my favorite thus far!- more favorable than other recent limited edition pieces.

Is their an other word either than "collective haul" to describe a series of purchase?...Anyway- to keep it short and simple- this is a "collective acquirement" of a bunch of makeup "thingies" from Sephora. I have yet to use any of them- although I did dab my fingers here and there in the products- and owning more makeup is but of course quite ridiculous and an entire waste of money- but than again I simply adore it all too much- and not a particular fan of saving money

If you happen to be a New Yorker like me, than you would know or have experienced first hand the numerous roses and men in suit attire trolling through the streets of Manhattan. The feeling of love was indeed all the more real and passionate- than any ordinary day of loving someone. Never have I quite witnessed so many bouquets in arm.

My Valentine was my boyfriend - whom you have probably seen in makeup before. Rather than flowers and chocolate, we picked up some accessories from the store Aldo! Simple and cute. We ended the night with Mcdonald's and vodka shots ( yes, so romantic lol)

I know...crazy is the first thing that comes to my mind as well, as I am writing this post. My birthday was on January 5th, and I have yet to be done and forgotten with it. I received this gift rather late - a combined gift from my grandmother and mom. This is the one item I have been longing for! and now I can finally scream at the top of my lungs..." I OWN A MACBOOK PRO". This is by far the best computer ever! and I have been enjoying my time with it!..also in addition, I have never used a mac computer before..so it will take sometime getting adjusted to. My Birthday gifts have finally been unwrapped!

So, as you girls know- my birthday was on the 5th of January! I received a package from my best friend who lives in the state of Minnesota, and my dad who ironically resides in Minnesota as well- ok, not too ironic, as I have spent many summers in the rural beautiful confines of a suburban world!

The packages were delivered to me weeks ago to my mom's office, and only now did I pick them up!

I had no idea what Ana ( my dearest friend) had in store for me. She insisted on her present to remain a surprise until the moment I opened it. When I did, I was in tears of joy! It was by far the most endearing and thoughtful gifts I have ever received- and I deeply love her ( she knows me all too well)!

Although I live in New York City- absense from some of the people I really love has not altered our relationship! what a joyous feeling!

I wanted to once again touch base with my "writer" side, and well, "write". I have an upcoming "birthday haul" blog, which I have already begun to compile- the photos will be uploaded soon and than the formulation of thought, and composition will soon follow. So, stay tuned for that :)

Anyway, I was in a "car" today- I personally don't drive ( in dedication to the wonderful resources of a city built of layered buildings and sweaters)...so, the radio was jamming all kinds of "today's music- a good consistency of Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Madonna remixes, and what have you)- so as I tend to get into every song and by every , I really mean "every"- I am a singing addict!- most find it frustrating, others maybe tolerable?!

Suddenly the music pauses and a huge radio announcement is cast " Season 4 of Jersey Shore is set to take place in Italy"
...whatt?!!!

Italy?!...I never get political! But, ever since I had the ultimate luxury of spending a little over two weeks of my life traveling through the extraordinary cities of "Venice, Florence, Pompei, Rome"...I could not ever possibly even begin to imagine the glorious country having the likes of people with names " JWowwww, Snooki, The Situation" parading or fist pumping their way through the crowds of the " Italian Preciosa".

I love watching the "Jersey Shore" as many of other Americans, and even possibly Europeans- since MTV is a global phenomenon. Italy is a sacred country! and I am at utter disbelief that our endearing corporate America has to drive itself to such lengths to keep " juicing" its ratings!

Any thoughts?! Is the " Jersey shore" taking it too far? or "nah,wahhh" ?

How I lost a guy in two months- and why you don't have to!

So, how many of you have seen " How to lose a guy in 10 days"? I saw it back when it was originally released, and than I watched it once more a good two weeks ago.

I don't have any particular fundamentals for this blog. I consider myself a dynamic person- even though I love shopping and makeup as much as the next girl, I think it is a fun and innovative concept to talk about other subjects.

Moving along...

( since my mom reads this- as well as my facebook, youtube- who knows what else she has in her pantry...I will not go into detail describing this guy- and no mom, it's not the current boyfriend)

The subject: "THE GUY"
The motive: " Get SERIOUS WITH HIM"
The verdict: EPIC FAIL"

The story: I met what I deemed to be an amazing guy. Although he wasn't my "type" I suppose- as I generally gravitate toward the Surfer/Grungy ones- he was nonetheless quite handsome, well mannered, extremely thoughtful, artistic, and very easy going. During the whole time of our very short lived relationship (if you could even call it that) I thought everything was ideal. The chemistry was unbelievable ( I'll save that for my dirty mind), and over all I was in the illusion that this could possibly be the man of my dreams.

Two years have passed, and I am still dwelling on this guy- crazy right?

So, all the while I was entirely disillusioned. I was slowly, but surely driving this guy further and further away- in fact I eventually drove him so far away that he managed to disappear on me for two weeks, only to call me two weeks later and apologize, but also to tell me " how clingy, and annoying I am" (his words).

Yes, the guy turned out to be a complete misleading jerk!- I will not deny that!, But looking back into the past, there were/are some prime examples of my behavior that would generally lead any male species to run for the hills!

What I did:

1. Call too much on the phone.

2. Spend hours on the phone talking ( he seemed to enjoy it),

3. Internet chat with him at work- at times he would tell me " gotta go", or " can't chat boss is here"- but I persisted on having him devote his time to me, instead of his job.

4. Ask to sleepover an additional day- which was Monday morning; when he needed to get up and ready for work.

5. Play "Britney Spears" songs on his computer, and sing along to them.

6. Webcam chat with my friends, and physically drag him into the video.

7. Obsess over "hello kitty".

8. Ask to borrow his t-shirts ( geez it was like one month into the ordeal)

9. Make him go out and get me a Smoothie, candy, or whatever else I demanded ( ok, so that only happened a few times)

10. Did not upkeep myself- got too comfortable, too soon.

( this list could go on)

All I am merely stating is that men are the predators, and we are the prey ( for the majority of the male population)

Let them call you! Let them beg to see you more often!

At first it is a game unfortunately- and as vulnerable and difficult, and fed up some of us may be...just know how to maneuver your way within the "guy" maze.

Also, a side note- what I did was just too overwhelming and way overbearing!...

Such as:

clinging on to someone, feeling desperate to have someone/ anyone - even if he happens to feel like the most amazing thing in the world to you, attempting to always be in communication as much as possible ( because of all those butterflies in your stomach),urges to spend a lot of time, etc...wait for his proposal.

As cynical as I am about men, and even if you are laid back about the guy you are recently dating- and they never seem to mature, or see you as a potential mate in the future- you will have to move on ( there are too many of them just looking for a sweet time). Nonetheless, great guys do exist. The kind of guy who is willing to give his all to just one individual- but even they need their space.

So, for those of you who read my story I hope you had a good laugh- because it is all true! I made a fool out of myself, and got hurt!- but maybe with my own advice, I will have a more subtle approach to not just men, but life in general.

Good news: I found my camera..bad news, I am so lazy to take pictures...I was also considering going back to Sephora to see if I could score on some more Hello Kitty items- despite seeing all the of the two star reviews from the store website. The quality might be terrible, but 5 stars for cuteness? or 5 stars that I qualify for a shopping intervention?!

I need to pick up some packages from my mom's office, since it was my Birthday on the 5th of January and I have received a few gifts- also allegedly my " luuux.com" order arrived ( I am assuming)...if one of those packages happen to be Luuux I will bow down and honor their site, even though we all know us little guys are making them rich.

Anyway, I can go on ranting, raving, salivating, thinking for countless hours- I wonder who reads all this pig Latin of mine?

Ever since the Kardashian team exploded, I have been hearing and seeing many- well numerous, kazillion, to infinity number of " hey, doll", from every girl I know, possibly even some men?

I absolutely love the Kardashians, just as I am an open Justin Bieber fan- not fanatic!

But, I can never get around the idea of saying "doll" to anyone! is that weird of me?..Had the word "doll" taken a toll on your vocabulary?

So, I currently cannot find my camera! ughhh!..I did buy a few things that I wanted to show you- most of you probably own it by now- the new MAC stuff:) - I am also going to a MAC VIP "Wonder woman" event soon!-yay :)

If I do not find my camera, I will have to resort back to the iphone, or my video camera?!..

A questionable life

I have not posted in well over weeks- because frankly I have not purchased anything! ( major shocker on my part), additionally life has been very " monotone", for a lack of a better word. Ever have those days, if not what has deemed to be months where your life is really out of place?!..yeah, that's me! ...I have lost my will to work, thus buy new things..even though I already have an overwhelming amount of things I generally don't need or have never used. So, i'm just "blah"
